BANGALORE: 'Apple families' are grieving in Bangalore too. There was something for everyone — from the iMac, iPod and iPhone to the iPad. "I was shocked. I came to know when I was checking Facebook on my Mac. I couldn't believe it. I ran to my mother and sister and asked them whether it was true. "I'll really miss Jobs. The world needs more people like him," she said.
"His inventions have become part of our lives. He understood very well what people wanted. He was creative, a genius who changed the face of user experience and design. He would have made more wonderful things," she said.
How did she know about Jobs? "Ever since I got an iPod, such an exciting device. I wanted to find out who made it. I read more about him. When the iPad came, it was really exciting. I got to know more about him. I'll miss him," she said.
Her mother Lovely said their's was an Apple family. "We use the iPod, iPad and the iMac. Jobs did wonders. Though he was over 50, he was a youth icon."Ami Mehta, also an 8th grade student, was shocked when she heard his death from a friend. "I went back home to check online and read about it. This was a man who started Apple in a garage and then turned it into a worldwide company. We'll miss his creativity which influenced the world."
"The thing I'll miss most is Jobs himself — a man who put 1000 songs in my pocket. Can we get something like the iPod again? With him around, we would have. I also speak on the iPhone and browse and write on the iPad," said Ami.
Ami's mother Nipa too is a Jobs' fan. "I'm a design engineer. Coming up with an idea and living with it in a rapidly changing world is no easy task. I admire his work," she said.
